The hostel was located near a subway station and had convenient transportation. Even if a fair was very reasonable but there was clean and kind services. I recommend this hostel.

Jonas was very Supportive and friendly. The energy he carries is always positive. I appreciate his no compromise on discipline. I enjoyed my stay in the hostel and the best thing I noticed was a drug free hostel.

I stayed for 14 nights. One of the things I liked most was the cleanliness; someone came by every day to check the bathroom. The location is very central, and it has all the utensils needed to prepare and eat.

I stayed 5 nights in the Rumi. It was a great experience! I want to share it! Let’s start from the +++ positive sides: 1. The room is getting clean everyday 2. There is a toilet paper every day 3. They provide a free breakfast 4. They also have free hot drinks 5. They give you a label to sign your food 6. Each bed has a socket and lamp 7. People aren’t allowed to eat in the room. Then, the --- negative sides: 1. There is no laundry 2. They ask you to show some documents to proof that you are a traveler and not going to extend your stay. And the neutral 000 sides: 1. If you want to use your own mug, you will have to carry it around with you. On the first day I left mine in the kitchen and never saw it again. 2. You need to bring your own padlock or pay for a rental one. Anyway, in total, there is much more good things. I definitely recommend this place!

This is really a little gem of a hostel--great location, with a large Korean grocery store and U.S. style grocery store just a block or two away! Also, there's no t.v., so it's easy to strike up a chat with other guests from all over the world! ☺️ Koreatown a relatively calm and pleasant neighborhood in central L.A. and a hostel staffer, Jonas Silva, is very sweet and will do his best to help you with whatever you need! Tell him Shary Rubin said "Hello! 💖"

Hidden gem in Koreatown! Very kind and welcoming staff. The vibe was very peaceful/private and I enjoyed the spacious balcony, especially during the mornings. The artwork and poetry throughout the building adds a creative and uplifting energy. Free light breakfast and coffee offered. Met other friendly travelers who shared kind words and smiles. Perfect for a quick stay, especially if you want to explore Koreatown.

This place is good and safe We were two girls, stayed three nights. It was clean, safe, closer to the metro, bus station, and Ralph.. The staff, Jonas was very friendly and helpful. I wish him and the Rumi hostel best of luck

A lovely hostel tucked away in Koreatown. I needed a place last minute and I’m not a stranger to hostels so this was one of the first places I went. It’s an easy place to meet interesting people to talk to, to enjoy breakfast together. There’s plenty of space outdoors and in if you need a moment of alone time. I came to LA to figure out some things about myself, relationship to family, what I’m going to do with my life, that sort of thing. So the name Rumi stuck out as a good place for that, turns out I was correct. Note, you can only stay for two weeks and need to show proof of continuing travel at check-in, which helps cultivate the sentiment matching the name. Its right by the D line and a handful of buses. Getting to downtown, LACMA, etc. it’s very easy.

Great hostel! Me and my brother got a private bunkbed room, which was great to store our items and have our own space after a long day of traveling. Everyone is respectful and cleans after themselves, various showers and restrooms. The area is very safe and nice to walk around, along with restaurants nearby. Would totally recommend and looking forward to coming back whenever I’m traveling again in the area.

Receptionist was not friendly. You need to pay to rent a towel, and need to pay for a locker, which is mandatory if you want to put some things in the cupboard, even if you acknowledge it is at your own risk, otherwise they will put stickers all over your belongings. It is cheap, but you get what you pay for
